An ESOP is a qualified retirement plan that provides employees with an ownership stake in the company. Eligible employees receive shares of company stock each year and as the stock value increases, so does the value of the employees’ account.
Unlike a 401(k), your ESOP contributions are 100% funded by the company. Participation is free and a benefit of working for Van Horn, as the ESOP requires no out-of-pocket contribution from employees.
