Shift Your Career Into High Gear

High Gear is a fast-track program to an exciting career as an auto technician; offered exclusively by the Van Horn Automotive Group. Over a two-year period, High Gear apprentice technicians work alongside experienced, technician mentors for hands-on training and real-world experience. Upon completion, a High Gear technician will have the opportunity to join Van Horn Automotive Group as a full-time auto technician.

• Learn on the Job – Apprentice Technician

Maintain full-time employment with Van Horn

• School to Work – Apprentice Technician

Maintain part-time employment with Van Horn while attending technical college

Eligibility and Program Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• Plan to pursue a professional career in the automotive industry or complete an Automotive Technician Program
• Valid driver’s license
• Remain employed for 90-days with a positive 90-day review
• Provide evidence of successful completion of skills checklist each semester

Upon Completion:

• Career opportunity as an auto technician with Van Horn Automotive Group
• Participate in all manufacturing specified training and become a technician
• Complete ASE certifications
• Apply skills learned throughout the program to achieve technical proficiency
• Tools purchased through Van Horn Automotive Group become employee’s property
