Memorial Day Test Drive Event Supports Big Brothers Big Sisters
The Van Horn Automotive Group, once again, took a community-driven approach to Memorial Day weekend. For every test drive taken on May 27, 28, and 30, Van Horn offered to donate $20 to the nearest Big Brothers Big Sisters agency. Big Brothers Big Sisters provides mentorship for youth to achieve their full potential and build their future. Many of the youth are from military families with a loved one away or lost in the line of duty. “While many businesses have sales around Memorial Day, we wanted to honor the day by raising money for a great organization,” said Ryan Thiel, Marketing Director of Van Horn Automotive Group. “We really appreciate our customers who came out to test drive cars and help us reach our goal.”
Test Drive Results
After three days of recorded test drives, the totals were combined from all 16 Van Horn locations throughout Wisconsin and Iowa. The final tally was 242 test drives, for a total donation of $4,840. The Big Brothers Big Sisters agencies use their donation money towards funding one-to-one matching and ongoing professional mentoring support.
